Host a Drive

Thank you for your interest in supporting Spokane Valley Partners through hosting a drive. Please submit the Drive Application

There are numerous ways we can use your support – you can select to host a diaper drive and support our Inland Northwest Diaper Bank or you can host a food drive and support our Food for Thought program as well as our local Spokane Valley Partners food bank.  To learn more about each program please see below.

FOOD DRIVE

  • 1 in 5 children live in a food-insecure household.
  • 85% of food-insecure households with children are headed by working parents.
  • In early elementary school, food insecurity impacts reading and math performance, girls’ weight gain and boys’ development of social skills.
  • Higher elementary grade children who experience food insecurity are at a greater risk for repeating a grade, while adolescents face increased risks of disordered mood, behavior, substance use and even suicide.
  • These struggles do not end in childhood. The impacts of childhood food insecurity can continue into adulthood, with effects such as reduced ability to manage stress and weaker future job performance.

In the interest of supporting these efforts and to help make the drive as successful as possible, there are a few details that may help.

THE MOST REQUESTED FOOD ITEMS FOR THE FOOD 4 THOUGHT PROGRAM –

  • Mac & Cheese
  • Bean or Meat Protein
  • Tuna or Chicken
  • Ramen Cups
  • Breakfast Bars, Instant Oatmeal or Cereal Cups
  • Shelf Stable Milk
  • With SVPs purchasing power a donation of just $25.00, can provide Food 4 Thought for a child for 1 month. Just one example of how your dollar donations stretch with Spokane Valley Partners.

DIAPER DRIVE

  • 2 Million Babies Are Living In Poor & Low-Income Families and 1 In 3 American Families Report Experiencing Diaper Need
  • Babies use 175-225 diapers a month at a cost of $50 to $80
  • On average, every modern baby spends about 18-20 thousand hours in diapers. If you spent that much time in them wouldn’t you want them to be clean and dry?
  • Diapers Cannot Be Obtained With Food Stamps. The only federal assistance program that can be used for diapers is TANF, but TANF has to cover many other expenses, including heat, electric and water bills, rent, clothing, transportation, and other basic needs. Little if any money is available to purchase enough diapers to keep a baby clean, dry, and healthy.

In the interest of supporting these efforts and to help make the drive as successful as possible, there are a few details that may help.

THE MOST REQUESTED ITEMS FOR THE DIAPER BANK –

  • Size 4, 5 and 6 are the most requested sizes and the most appreciated donations.
  • Baby wipes are also greatly appreciated.
  • As a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, SVP is able purchase an average months’ worth of diapers for 1 baby for only $25.00. Just one example of how your dollar donations stretch with Spokane Valley Partners.
