Spokane Valley Partners Statement

Updated: Mar 16, 2020

As of March 16, 2020

Spokane Valley Partners is actively monitoring developments related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and taking proactive measures to protect the health and well-being of our partners, clients, volunteers and staff. We take our role serving vulnerable people seriously and we are committed to our mission to get nutritious food to all children, families and seniors who need it.

Currently our Food Bank and Diaper Bank are operating as usual, with social distancing protocol. Our Clothing Bank is CLOSED until further notice due to the lifespan of the virus on soft goods. We are NOT accepting any donations of clothing or household goods until further notice.

The SVP Leadership team has:

· Increased sanitization of high-touch surfaces throughout our facilities and fleet.

· Increased sanitization and glove use procedures for our volunteers.

· Activated our business continuity plan and emergency response preparedness team.

· Reinforced our sanitation standards by reminding volunteers to wash their hands with soap and hot water frequently and to change the gloves we provide as often as necessary.

The possible spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is not to be taken lightly. It is not “just the flu” – it is life threatening to the population we serve.

During your visit to SVP, we ask that you:

· Wash hands frequently in our restrooms and use hand sanitizer.

· Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or sleeve at your elbow or shoulder if you sneeze or cough (and then wash your hands).

· Wave at a friend or new acquaintance rather than hug or shake hands.

· Practice “Social Distancing” by staying at least 6 feet away from other people.

· DO NOT visit SVP if you are feeling unwell, especially if you have a fever, sore throat or a cough.

· DO NOT enter the SVP building if you or someone close to you have been to countries on the CDC watchlist: wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices

· Follow updated best practices by going to CDC.gov.
